Through this tutorial, I’ll show you how to create a male jacket using Adobe Illustrator. We’ll be creating base shapes using the basic shapes, some basic vector shape building techniques (Offset Path, Blend…) and the Pathfinder palette. Then we will be adding details using the gradients and the Transparency palette. We will also use effects like: Feather, Gaussian Blur, and Drop Shadow to create a vivid male jacket. Let’s begin!

Add Details for the Sleeve

36. Select the "Sleeve" shape and go to the Object > Path > Offset Path. Enter a - 14px Offset and then click OK. Replace the existing color of the newly created shape with the radial gradient. Next, move the resulting shape 10px down and then move it 2px to the left.

37. Create a curved line using the Pen Tool (P) similar with the first image below. Once your curved line is drawn, fill it with None and add a 3px stroke (apply the linear gradient across stroke). Now duplicate (Ctrl +C, Ctrl +F) the newly created curved line. Change the stroke weight of the duplicate to 1px. Replace the existing stroke color with the new linear gradient across stroke and then apply the Width Profile 2 for it. Finally, move it 1px to the right.

39. Continue with the Pen Tool (P). Create a curved line, fill it with None and add a 3px stroke (R=0, G=0, B=0). Apply the Width Profile 3 for this curved line. Next , duplicate the newly created curved line and replace the existing stroke color with the linear gradient across stroke. Move this curved line 1px up and then move it 1px to the right. Now duplicate the newly created curved line, change the stroke weight of the copy to 1px and replace the existing stroke color with new linear gradient across stroke. Apply the Width Profile 2 for it. Finally , move this curved line 1px to the right.

40. We'll add some details for the sleeve. First, draw an object and fill it with R=112, G=98, B=87. Next, set the Blending Mode to Multiply and reduce the Opacity to 40%. While the resulting shape is selected, go to the Object > Path > Offset Path. Enter a -5px Offset and then click OK. Change the Blending Mode to Lighten and lower the Opacity to 50%.
